Gerald Praschl (born May 25, 1968 in Burglengenfeld , Bavaria ) is a journalist in Berlin .

Praschl was a local reporter for the Mittelbayerische Zeitung in Regensburg , since 1989 a reporter for the Berliner Morgenpost in Berlin, from 1990 an editor at Superillu . From 1992 to 1994 he worked as a freelance journalist and co-owner of the Berlin press agency Capitol Media with a focus on reports from the theaters of war in the Balkans at the time.

In 1994 he became editor and in 1996 chief reporter of Superillu. Numerous publications on contemporary history, especially the GDR past. Since 2000 he has been a member of the Federal Press Conference .
