history

The publishing house was founded in 1994 in Berlin by Kai Homilius . He became known nationwide through his regional literature, which mainly deals with travel destinations in eastern Germany . In 2002 a second direction was added with the Zeitgeschichte edition. This edition mainly deals with factual topics, national and international, from the period after 1945.

In 2004 further series were published: Politics and Thought, Global Analyzes, and later works on military history . In 2007 the series Tatsachenreport followed, a fiction series on non-fiction subjects. Since 2008 paperbacks have been published monthly in the Compact series published by Jürgen Elsässer . Since 2009 DVDs with interviews with Andreas von Bülow , Jürgen Todenhöfer , Daniele Ganser and Anita Petek-Dimmer have also been in the program. An audio book series started with the former SPIEGEL editor Fritjof Meyer on the subject of Auschwitz in autumn 2009. Since 2001, works and memoirs by former high-ranking officers of the GDR Ministry for State Security , such as Karli Coburger and Heinz Geyer, have also been published . Heinz Geyer's invitation to the Leipzig Book Fair in 2008 caused outrage and incomprehension. The Homilius-Verlag also publishes books with content on conspiracy theory or similar subject areas. At the end of 2010, Homilius founded Compact-Magazin GmbH with Elsässer and Andreas Abu Bakr Rieger , which publishes the monthly magazine Compact ; Rieger, Elsässer and Homilius each held a third of the shares. In the meantime, Rieger left as a partner. While the Compact mainly represents right-wing populist positions, several authors of the Marxist newspaper Junge Welt ( Arnold Schölzel , Rüdiger Göbel , Rainer Rupp , Karin Leukefeld , Stefan Huth ) published in Kai Homilius Verlag . This was criticized internally in the newspaper as an alliance with right-wing extremists , an article described it as no coincidence that book titles such as Our Millennial Reich or Warrior Acts were featured in the program . Great generals in world history - from Alexander to Rommel .

The Kai Homilius Verlag was also domain owner the end of 2012, in the context of "sovereignty conference" of the cross Front magazine, Compact set volks-initiative.info .
