Holger Strohm (2012)

Holger Strohm (born August 7, 1942 in Lübeck ) is a German author who became known for his non-fiction books on the dangers of atomic energy and the safety of nuclear power plants .

Life

Strohm studied manufacturing engineering in Berlin , business administration in Toronto and Gothenburg and education at the University of Hamburg . He worked as a vocational school teacher and worked in industry as an employee and as an organizational and industrial consultant.

In 1971 he wrote his first book on the dangers of atomic energy, Friedlich in die Katastrophe . After it was rejected by over 80 publishers, Strohm published it first in private and then in 1973 in the Kleinverlag Association with a circulation of 4,000 copies. The new edition, published in 1981 by Two Thousand and One, quickly sold 130,000 copies. The total circulation of the books published by Strohm at Two Thousand One is 640,000. According to the historian Joachim Radkau , the book was a “significant leap in the German nuclear power criticism” and soon after it was published it became “a kind of bible for the anti-nuclear movement ”.

Originally Strohm was a member of the SPD , from which he was excluded in 1978, because he was a candidate for the top candidate of the colorful list - fight back (BuLi) in the elections for the Hamburg citizenship . Here he turned against right-wing radicals in the Green List environmental protection in particular and believed he could "cope with" the communist activists. He finally resigned from the BuLi in anger after he was unable to prevail against the Communist League , which dominated the BuLi, with his proposal to participate in the European elections .

After the Chernobyl disaster , he lived with his family in Portugal for ten years .

Strohm lives in Mölln and Portugal.

Act

Strohm is the author of around 40 books. In 1972 he worked as an expert for the Interior Committee of the German Bundestag . He has received the Federal Order of Merit and the International Environmental Protection Medal .

Since the educational scientist Peter Struck did not want to supervise his doctorate, Strohm went to the University of Bremen to study with Johannes Beck in 2002 , shortly before his retirement. Strohm's doctorate from 2007 was confirmed by a court in 2012 after procedural uncertainties. The doctoral certificate for Dr. phil. he received on August 7, 2012.

The esoteric magazine Raum & Zeit published an article by Strohm on the subject of teacher violence in 2007. Environment Secretary Michael Müller wrote the preface to Strohm's book Gaia weeping in 2008 . In autumn 2010 Sokrates Verlag published Das Wunder des Seins und seine Destruction, in 2011 an edition of Friedlich in die Katastrophe expanded by a foreword by Müller in the Edition Nautilus and 2012 news from the Euro-Mafia at Kai Homilius Verlag in the Edition Zeitgeschichte with a foreword by Müller. The latter writes about Strohm that he “belongs to those who use their own head” and thus “take the other look” “that we need to get better insights in the jungle of interests and ideologies.”

Strohm is a believer in chemtrails - conspiracy theories . His writings on the subject have been rejected or ignored by established publishing houses. Strohm then founded the self-publisher, Wider die Zensur.

Strohm did research on AIDS , which he believed came from American research laboratories. The United States also manipulated the weather in North Korea and was thus responsible for the famine there. In addition, Strohm claims that there has been a “ Reich Government ” in Berlin since 1985 , which issues its own passports and is subordinate to the American President.

In September 2012, the documentary by Strohm produced was peaceful in the disaster by Marcin El in Abaton cinema listed Hamburg for the first time. The film was not distributed , but was shown in many German cities and released on DVD.

Controversy

In 2012 Strohm gave an interview to the NPD- related magazine Umwelt & Aktiv . Andreas Speit criticized Strohm for talking to the Nazis, with which he was helping the magazine to establish itself across the scene.

In December 2015, a film made in the Saasen project workshop with a critical biography of Holger Strohm was released under the title “Outrage and Conspiracy - Portrait of a Person on the Way to Right-Wing Ideologies”. A lawsuit by Strohm against the film was rejected by the Hamburg district court in February 2015 .
