Gerald Vogler

Gerald Vogler (born May 31,  1974 ) is an Austrian basketball coach and former player.

career

Vogler played in the basketball league for UBC Mattersburg , the 1.84-meter-tall construction player was a long team captain in Mattersburg and was particularly known for his strengths in defense.

In 2003 Vogler took over the coaching position at the second division UBBC Güssing. In the 2005/06 season he led Güssing to promotion to the Bundesliga and was then named coach of the year in Burgenland  . Following the 2009/10 season, Vogler, who was also assistant coach of the national team at times, left the Güssinger team to take a break from basketball. At the end of February 2011, he took over the coaching position at Bundesliga club Fürstenfeld Panthers as the successor to Bob Gonnen . Vogler remained in office in Fürstenfeld until the end of the 2011/12 season. In the summer of 2012 he was the head coach of the Austrian U18 national team at the B-European Championship in Sarajevo .

During his basketball career, Vogler completed a law degree at the University of Vienna , passed the bar exam in 2010/11 and later settled down  as a lawyer in Mattersburg .
