Gerassim Grigoryevich Romanenko

Gerassim Grigoryevich Romanenko ( Russian: Герасим Григорьевич Романенко , pseudonym: Gerassim Tarnowski ; * 1855 in Kirjanka near Orgeev ; † 1928 ) was an important theoretician of terrorism in the Russian Empire , along with Morozov and Tkachov .

Life

Romanenko was a lawyer and landowner from Bessarabia . In 1879 he came to Zurich , where he met Morosow and had contacts with the Nabat group around Tkachev. In 1881 Morozov and Romanenko returned to Russia to set up terrorist organizations. Romanenko's work Terrorism and Routine was a response to Mikhail Dragomanov (1841–1896). This was followed by a sentence of five years' exile in Russian Turkestan . In 1887 Romanenko was allowed to go to his homeland in Bessarabia, where he became a staunch monarchist .
