Gerd Achenbach (politician)

Gerd Achenbach (born September 20, 1941 in Weidenau ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 1999 to 2004 he was the district administrator of the Unna district .

Life

After completing secondary school, Achenbach first completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk, which he completed with the assistant test. He did military service (short service) with the Federal Border Guard , passed the Abitur at the Aufbaugymnasium in Fulda in 1965 and then began studying law at the universities in Gießen and Frankfurt am Main , which he did in 1971 with the first and after completing his legal clerkship in 1974 with the second Finished legal state examination. He then worked for the Arnsberg district government , where he was press officer and personal advisor to District President Fritz Ziegler .

In 1976, Achenbach moved to the Unna district as department head for organization and personnel, where he was elected district director and treasurer in 1992. From October 1, 1999 to October 13, 2004, he was the full-time district administrator for the Unna district. In 2002 he also became President of the District Council of North Rhine-Westphalia . He held this position until 2004, when he was replaced by Thomas Kubendorff .

Gerd Achenbach has been married since 1970.
