Thomas Kubendorff (born January 5, 1956 in Heiligenhaus ) is a German lawyer and politician ( CDU ). He was district administrator of the Steinfurt district for 16 years .

Life

Early years

Thomas Kubendorff was born in 1956 into a parental home influenced by the CDU. He attended elementary school in Heiligenhaus , then high school in Velbert and studied law in Bochum. There he completed the first state examination in 1983 and the second in 1986. He then worked as a legal advisor for the city of Ratingen and worked for eleven years as an alderman for law, order, real estate, social affairs, youth, sport, and the environment in the city of Hattingen .

Political career

1973 Kubendorff joined the CDU. In 1999 he was directly elected to the district administrator in Steinfurt and confirmed in office in 2005 and 2009. In 2015 he no longer ran for election; the reason he gave the high workload. His successor was Klaus Effing (CDU).

From 2004 to 2012 he was President of the District Council of North Rhine-Westphalia , since 2012 he has been the second Vice President. Since 2011 he has also been Vice President of the Berlin District Assembly .

Private

Kubendorff is married and has two children.
