Parish church Leonding
The parish church of Leonding is located in Leonding in the municipality of Leonding in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Michael belongs to the deanery of Traun in the diocese of Linz . The church, the churchyard, the cemetery and the war memorial are listed .
history
The church was mentioned in a document in 1234. The simple, essentially Gothic church was rebuilt around the middle of the 17th century. The church was restored in 1951.
architecture
The single-nave, three-bay nave has a stitch cap barrel vault. The retracted one-bay choir with a three-eighth closure has a cross vault. The west tower has a tower hall with a late Gothic profiled portal and probably shows Romanesque figural fragments on the south side and wears an onion helmet.
Furnishing
The baroque high altar from the second quarter of the 18th century has a tabernacle and shows the high altar image of St. Michael from the third third of the 18th century from the Maulbertsch School. The right side altar Holy Cross bears a figural group of the Descent from the Cross in the style of Daniele da Volterra, perhaps from a Schwanthaler . The left side altar bears a tabernacle in the Rococo style . The pulpit has a late Gothic base.
There is a bell from 1524.
