Gerhard "Gerd" Bauer (born July 28, 1957 in Koblenz ) is a German politician ( SPD ; Die Linke ).

Life

After graduating from high school in 1977, Bauer studied law at the University of Münster and wrote his first state examination in 1983 and his second state examination in 1988. In 1989 he became an independent lawyer .

In 1983, Bauer joined the SPD, where he was initially a member of the board of the Münster Hansa-Hafen local association , and in 1990 he became a member of the Paderborn - Büren sub-district board .

On June 4, 1998, Bauer moved into the German Bundestag for Josef Vosen, who had left the day before . He was only represented in the Bundestag for a few months.

Bauer later ran twice for the office of district administrator of the Paderborn district , but failed both times. In 2009, Bauer was the left's top candidate for election to the Paderborn district assembly. The party, which ran for the district assembly for the first time, made it straight away, so that Bauer has served as a district assembly member ever since. At the end of 2011, Gerd Bauer renounced his mandate in representing the Paderborn district and left the DIE LINKE party. In 2012 Gerd Bauer became a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany again.
