Gerd Horseling

Gerd Horseling (born April 15, 1903 in Goch , † March 22, 1992 ibid) was a German Reichstag member of the KPD , district leader of IG Bau-Steine-Erden and union secretary .

Life

Gerd Horseling joined the Reichstag in 1932 for the KPD, which he had joined in 1923. At the same time he was also a member of the Gocher city council and a works council member at the margarine works. After the seizure of power by the Nazi Party on January 30, 1933, he was arrested on February 28 and in the Sonnenburg concentration camp brought. After his release in August 1933, he was arrested again immediately on his return to Goch and then imprisoned in Kleve prison. Here he was released in December 1933 and placed under police supervision. Due to its political past, Horseling was considered "unworthy of defense" for a long time and was only drafted at the end of the Second World War. In 1945 he was captured in Italy. In July 1945 he was able to return to Goch. Horseling immediately resumed its union activity and vigorously advocated the unity union. 1947 again city councilor for the KPD in Goch. 1950 full-time district manager of IG Bau-Steine-Erden. In 1955 Horseling was expelled from the KPD for defending the party-political neutrality of the trade unions. In 1961 he joined the SPD , of which he was a member from 1918 to 1923. For the SPD he was again a member of the city council from 1961 to 1973.
