Gerd Krusche (2016)

Gerd Edgar Krusche (born May 5, 1955 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian politician ( FPÖ ) and technical employee. From 2010 to 2019 he was a member of the Austrian Federal Council delegated by the Styrian state parliament .

education and profession

Krusche attended elementary school in Innsbruck between 1961 and 1965 and then completed a secondary school in Innsbruck from 1965. He finished high school in 1973 with the Matura and then did military service between 1973 and 1974. In 1974 Krusche studied Montanistik at the Montanuniversität Leoben .

After gaining professional experience at various holiday internships in the mining industry between 1975 and 1983, he worked as a freelancer in the field of geotechnical measurements between 1983 and 1987. He joined Geodata in Leoben in 1987 and is currently Head of Quality Management and Marketing as well as a member of the Board of Directors of Geodata Andina in Santiago de Chile.

Politics and functions

During his studies, Krusche was chairman of the List of Leoben Students (LLSt) and of the main committee of the Austrian Students' Union at the Montan University Leoben. He was elected to the municipal council in the municipality of Leoben in 1995 and in the same year took over the role of FPÖ club chairman in the FPÖ municipal council club. From 2010 to 2015 he was chairman of the examination board of the city of Leoben. After the municipal council election in 2015, he was elected 2nd Vice Mayor of Leoben, but resigned from this position after his re-election as a member of the Federal Council in the summer of the same year. In the course of his political activity he had numerous political functions, e. B. City and district party chairman of the FPÖ Leoben. He is currently a member of the state party executive and the federal party leadership.

Krusche became a member of the Austrian Federal Council on October 21, 2010 as the representative of Styria . From 2015 he was chairman of the health committee and a member of seven other committees. In addition, Krusche is also deputy chairman of the regional management of Upper Styria East and a member of the main committee of the Styrian Association of Cities. After the state elections in 2019 , he resigned from the Federal Council on December 16, 2019.

Private

Krusche is married with three children and the grandfather of triplets. He lives in Leoben.
