Gerd Lippold (born September 22, 1961 in Leipzig ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) who has been State Secretary in the Saxon Ministry of Energy, Climate Protection, Environment and Agriculture since January 2020 . From 2014 to 2019 Gerd Lippold was a member of the Saxon State Parliament .

Life

After he completed his school education with graduation and his military service had graduated, studied Lippold at the University of Leipzig in the study physics , and graduated in 1988 as a physicist. He received his doctorate in 1993 on the subject of Hall effect studies on the DX center in AlxGa1-xAs . From 1993 to 1998 he was a research assistant and project manager at the University of Leipzig and from 1998 to 2000 project manager at the Institute for Surface Modification there . He switched to business in 2000 and became Managing Director of Solarion GmbH, then "Senior Vice President" in 2005, before joining PSC Polysilane Chemicals GmbH as Managing Partner in 2009. He also works as a management consultant under the name "Dr. Gerd Lippold - INNOSUN".

Lippold has been a member of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grüne party since 2004 and was the spokesman for the state working group “Energy and Climate” from 2012 to 2014.

Gerd Lippold is married, has three daughters and is non-denominational.

Political offices

Lippold ran in the state elections in Saxony in 2014 as a direct candidate in the Leipzig Land 1 constituency , received 2.3% of the votes, but moved into the Saxon state parliament via 8th place on the state list of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen . In 2019 he was re-elected to the state parliament via the state list, but resigned his mandate in January 2020 in favor of the office of State Secretary. Gerhard Liebscher moved up for him .

Lippold was a member of the state parliament's committee for economy, labor and transport and deputy chairman of the evaluation committee. He was spokesman for energy and climate policy and for economic and technology policy as well as tourism policy spokesman for his group.
