Gerd Morgenthaler

Gerd Morgenthaler (* 1962 in Mosbach ) is a German legal scholar.

Life

He studied law and economics in Heidelberg (first state examination in 1987, second state examination in 1991). After receiving his doctorate in 1991 with a dissertation on international tax law, he was a research assistant at the chair of Paul Kirchhof , University of Heidelberg and his habilitation in 1999 with a thesis on constitutional law, University of Heidelberg; venia legendi for public law including finance and tax law as well as constitutional history of modern times , he represented chairs at the Universities of Marburg , Bonn and Siegen , where he has been a university professor since 2001 . From 2002 to 2004 he was Vice Dean of Faculty 5 at the University of Siegen for international cooperation.

His main research interests are constitutional, tax and environmental law, including European and international issues, as well as law and development.
