Gerd Scheffold

Gerd Scheffold (born January 27, 1954 in Laupheim ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

After graduating from high school in Laupheim, Scheffold studied law in Tübingen and in 1983 became a consultant at the Federal Association of Self-employed Baden-Württemberg. From 1986 to 1999 he was managing director of the BDS Südwürttemberg. He later moved back to the BDS Baden-Württemberg. Scheffold is married and has four children. Since 1986 he has been a member of the supervisory board of the cooperative for housing construction (GWO) in Laupheim.

From 1976 to 1984 Scheffold was district chairman of the Junge Union Biberach , 1984 to 1988 member of the German Council of the Junge Union, and from 1986 to 1996 chairman of the CDU in Laupheim. In 1984 he was elected to the Laupheim municipal council, to which he was a member for 17 years, including seven years as parliamentary group chairman. From 1992 to 2001 he was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg . There he represented constituency 66 Biberach. From 1996 to 1999 he was a member of the Broadcasting Council of Südwestfunk (SWF), from 1999 to 2002 of the Broadcasting Council of Südwestrundfunk (SWR). He was a member of the Baden-Württemberg State Media Council from 1987 to 1989 and again since 2007.
