Gerd Teßmer

Gerd Teßmer (born January 21, 1945 in Pelplin ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After graduation in 1964 in Eberbach studied Teßmer to 1969 history, geography and French at the University of Heidelberg and Education at the University of Education Heidelberg . He then worked as a secondary school teacher in Mosbach . Teßmer is married and has two children.

1971 Teßmer was in the council of Binau selected. In the same year he took over the chairmanship of the local SPD association. From 1979 he was also chairman of the SPD district association in the Neckar-Odenwald district , in whose district assembly he was elected in 1984. From 1984 to 2006 Teßmer was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg . There he represented constituency 38 (Neckar-Odenwald) and was, among other things, chairman of the working group for rural areas as well as the agricultural policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group and parliamentary commissioner for Bundeswehr affairs.
