Roland Weiß (born January 24, 1956 in Mannheim ) is a German politician.

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Mannheim in 1977, Roland Weiß worked as a paramedic. From 1983 until his termination without notice by the Baden-Württemberg regional association of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund in 2010, he was managing director of the Mannheim / Rhein-Neckar regional association of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund . A settlement at the Mannheim Labor Court on March 11, 2011, however, provides that the employment relationship will last until June 30, 2011, subject to the approval of the ASB regional association. Weiß is married and has two children.

In 1977 Weiß joined the SPD and in 1995 became a district advisory council in Mannheim-Waldhof . In 2000 he became chairman of the SPD local association Mannheim-Gartenstadt. In 2004 he replaced the late Max Nagel in the Baden-Württemberg state parliament , to which he was a member for two years. In 2005 he was elected to the Mannheim municipal council. After his nomination for the Baden-Württemberg state elections in 2011 was withdrawn by the Mannheim SPD, Weiß declared his resignation from the party and stood as a single candidate . He received 1527 votes (3.18%) and thus did not move into the state parliament.

From May 1, 2012 he formed a parliamentary group with the three representatives of the Mannheim List (ML). In the municipal council election on May 25, 2014, Roland Weiß was elected to third place in the Mannheim list (ML).
