Gerd von Brandenstein

Gerd von Brandenstein (born April 6, 1942 in Berlin ) is a German industrial manager .

Life

Von Brandenstein is a great-great-grandson of Carl Heinrich von Siemens , the brother of Werner von Siemens .

After graduating from high school in Rotenburg an der Fulda in 1962 , he began studying economics in Mainz . In 1972 he started his career at Siemens AG . Among other things, he worked as commercial director in Ecuador (1975–1978) and as managing director in Venezuela (1978–1981). Most recently, he worked as head of the Berlin office of the Siemens corporate management (2000–2008), as head of the Berlin liaison office to the federal government (since 1994) and as president of the Association of Business Associations Berlin-Brandenburg (since 2000). He is a member of the Degewo supervisory board .

In 2008 he was appointed managing director of von-Siemens-Vermögensverwaltung GmbH and as a representative of the Siemens family on the Supervisory Board of Siemens AG, as successor to Peter von Siemens . Although he had already passed the usual age limit of 70, he was re-elected in 2013. In 2015 he resigned from these functions, and Nathalie von Siemens became his successor on the Supervisory Board.
