Infrastructure and use
The airfield, located around two kilometers south of State Road 9 , has an 800-meter-long asphalt runway (11/29). There is a small asphalt apron and hangar south of the runway. The airfield is primarily used for general aviation . It is operated by the local aero club, which also has a flight school here.
history
The city of Modena racecourse was also used as an airfield from 1911. Later, on Via Emilia, not far from the city center, a dedicated airfield was set up, which was also used for military purposes during World War II. After the war, urban development made further use impossible. In 1971, the city made land available to the Aero Club Modena near Marzaglia, where today's airfield was built.
