Gerda Schlerth

Gerda Schlerth - née Braun (* approx. 1924, † November 1972 ) was a German table tennis player . In 1961 she came second at the National German Championships and was German champion twice with the TSV Union Wuppertal women's team.

Career

Gerda Schlerth was a sister of Kurt Braun and the mother-in-law of Klaus Solka . After the Second World War , she first played for the TSV Union Wuppertal club . With its women's team, she was German champion in 1949 and 1950. At the National German Championships in 1955 she reached the semi-finals alongside Kurt Braun in mixed. In 1961 she was second in doubles with Isolde Woschee .

There are also other titles in West German senior tournaments.

In 1955 she left the club TSV Union Wuppertal and switched to TTC Barmen, where she stayed until 1958. She later played for the club TTC Blau Gelb Krefeld, which she left in 1964 for TTV Essen-West, where she played in the national league with her daughter Marion. In 1967 she joined the club Post SV Köln in the major league, around 1970 she played at ESV Wuppertal-Ost.
