Klaus Solka

Klaus Solka (born January 4, 1942 ) is a German table tennis player . He took part in the 1969 World Cup.

Solka began his career with Sportfreunde Katernberg . In 1960 he moved to SV Moltkeplatz Essen . With their men's team he was four times German runner-up and 1967/68 German cup winner. From 1966 he played in the newly founded Bundesliga . In 1970 he joined the TuS Nachrodt-Obstfeld (later TTG Nachrodt-Altena), with which he won the German team championship in 1972/73. In 1974 he went to the Dutch club HIA PANELS Apeldoorn, with whom he made promotion to the first division. In 1974 he returned to SV Moltkeplatz Essen. He later worked for MTG Horst-Essen , ASV Wuppertal(until 1981) and Ruwa Dellwig (from 1981) active. In the 2009/2010 season he played at Post SV Oberhausen and after just one season he moved to the regional league club DJK Eintracht Borbeck.

Solka was twice in the national team, the first time in December 1963 in the international match against Austria, where he was undefeated. In December 1968 he was involved in Germany's 6-1 victory in the European league game against the Netherlands. At the 1969 World Cup in Munich he was nominated for the individual competitions. Here he came under in the round of the last 32.

Solka worked as a municipal official. He is married to Marion Schlerth, a daughter of Gerda Schlerth .
