Gergő Oláh (born November 24, 1988 in Salgótarján ) is a Roma - Hungarian singer .

Career

Oláh's career began in 2012 when he took part in the third season of X-Factor , the Hungarian version of the talent show The X Factor . He managed to win each of the eleven live shows by a clear margin, so that in the end he emerged as the winner.

In 2015 he took part in the A Dal , the Hungarian preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . In the preliminary round he was able to secure the 2nd place with the song A tükör előtt before he was eliminated in the semifinals. He then repeated his participation in 2016, this time with the song Győz a jó . Again he was able to book second place in the preliminary round. He then repeated this in the semifinals. In the final he made it to the superfinals, where he lost to Freddie . The following year he took part in the A Dal again, but this time as part of the band Roma Soul with the song Nyitva a ház . The group was able to qualify in the preliminary round on a shared first place for the semi-finals, where they were then eliminated in fifth.

In 2016 he was awarded the Szikra-díj , a music prize for Christian music.

Private

Oláh is married and has a son and a daughter. His second cousin is the singer Gigi Radics (* 1996), who also often takes part in the A Dal.
