Gerhard Daub

Gerhard Daub (born September 8, 1928 in Weidenau (Siegen) , † February 27, 1993 ) was a German politician ( FDP ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1946, Gerhard Daub studied law in Frankfurt am Main . In 1950/51 he was an exchange student in Illinois (USA), where he obtained a Master of Arts. In 1954 he began his legal clerkship and passed the second state examination in 1958.

politics

From 1958 to 1962, Gerhard Daub was federal chairman of the German Young Democrats , member of the state and federal executive boards of the FDP , vice-president of the European young liberals , vice-president of the NATO youth conference and member of the council of the liberal world union .

In local politics he was a member of the Frankfurt city council from 1956 to 1960. From 1959 to 1962 he was mayor of Marburg . From December 1, 1958 to January 7, 1960 he was a member of the Hessian state parliament.

From 1959 to 1969 Daub was one of the editors of the journal liberal on behalf of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation .
