Gerhard Egbers

Gerhard Egbers (born June 4, 1933 in Nordhorn ) has a doctorate in engineering specializing in textile technology .

Life

Egbers studied mechanical engineering specializing in textile technology at RWTH Aachen University , where he did his doctorate under Walther Wegener . After working for a year at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology , he managed the spinning mill at NINO for several years . In 1971 he became director of the then Institute for Textile Technology in Reutlingen . In 1981 he also became a professor for textile technology at the University of Stuttgart . In the period up to his retirement in 1998, the institute grew significantly, so that in 1981 the move to the current location in Denkendorf was completed.
