Gerhard Gürtlich (2010)

Gerhard Gürtlich (born June 13, 1953 in Hainburg an der Donau ) is an Austrian journalist, section head in the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK, until 2020 BMVIT) and lecturer at the Vienna University of Economics and Business .

Career

In 1977 he completed his studies in business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, specializing in transport management and marketing, with a graduation degree, and in 1980 he received his doctorate. Gürtlich was taken over by the BMVIT in 1982 and head of Section IV (railways, shipping and employee protection) in 2006. From 2012 to 2018 he was managing director of the Austrian Neusiedler Seebahn GmbH before becoming head of Section IV Transport in the Ministry of Transport and the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology, which was renamed in 2020.

Awards

Gürtlich was awarded both the title of professor and the Austrian Cross of Honor for Science and Art, 1st class .
