Gerhard Klussmeier

Gerhard Klußmeier (born May 14, 1939 in Hamburg ) is a journalist and book author whose special focus is on the history of jazz and Karl May .

Act

Klußmeier has authored several books, including monographs on Prince Eisenherz (Vienna 1987) and various musicians such as Benny Goodman (Frankfurt 1989). He has also edited the jazz documentaries Swinging Hamburg (German Record Prize 2005), the 100-CD edition Jazz in the Charts (2006), a documentary about the Anglo-German Swing Club and various works about Karl May. He was also responsible for an exhibition on penny novels from the post-war period. He is the first chairman of Swinging Hamburg eV

Klußmeier is the author of monographs on Karl May as well as contributions to the yearbook of the Karl May Society . In 1988/89 he got the reprint of the earliest print version of Karl May's Waldröschen . The large Karl May illustrated book (several editions since 1978), the illustrated Karl May bibliography (Plaul with the help of Klußmeier, 1988) and 2007 in the Karl May publishing house Karl May und seine Zeit were created as a joint effort with Hainer Plaul .
