Gerhard Kovasits

Gerhard Kovasits (born May 6, 1953 ; † April 7, 2016 ) was an Austrian politician ( FPÖ ) and a detective . From 2010 until his death, Kovasits was a member of the Burgenland Landtag .

Life

After attending primary and secondary school, Kovasits learned the profession of painter and house painter and subsequently completed the police school and the detective transfer course. From 1978 Kovasits worked professionally as a detective.

Kovasits lived in Bruckneudorf. He was divorced and had a daughter and a son. Kovasits succumbed to the April 2016 Cancer sorrows of.

politics

In the political field, Kovasits was active as President of the Association of Freedom Community Representatives, from 1997 he was also a local councilor in Bruckneudorf and from October 2008 FPÖ district chairman in the Neusiedl am See district . He also held the function of the regional party chairman's deputy. Kovasits ran in the state elections in Burgenland in 2010 in first place in the FPÖ district proposal for the state constituency of Neusiedl am See and in third place in the FPÖ state election proposal. He then moved into the state parliament via a remaining mandate from the state election proposal and was sworn in as a member of parliament on June 24, 2010. Kovasits was FPÖ area spokesman for employees, fire services, municipal affairs, infrastructure, culture, agriculture, senior citizens, tourism, the environment and housing.
