Gerhard Lau

Gerhard Lau (born November 21, 1936 in Rostock ) is a former German preservationist .

Life

Gerhard Lau learned the profession of technical draftsman from 1952. From 1957 to 1960 he did military service with the NVA . He then studied at the engineering college in Wismar and graduated with the title electrical engineer . A distance learning to engineer followed. Gerhard Lau worked in the Rostock housing association in structural engineering. From 1980 to 1990 he worked at the Institute for Cultural Buildings in Berlin. From 1990 to 2002 he was a monument conservationist in Rostock.

Gerhard Lau lives with his wife in Warnemünde . He volunteers in the friends' association of the Warnemünder lighthouse , which supports social projects on site through the income from the entrance fees of up to 80,000 visitors annually.
