Gerhard Lojen

Gerhard Lojen (born December 28, 1935 in Graz ; † December 17, 2005 there ) was an Austrian architect , painter and teacher .

Life

Lojen studied architecture, drawing and painting at the Graz University of Technology from 1954 to 1962 with Kurt Weber. From 1958 to 1977 he was a member of the Graz Secession and in 1977 co-founder of the artist group 77 in Graz. Study trips took him to Italy, Greece, Germany, Tunisia, Israel, Switzerland and Iran. From 1987 until 2000 he was director of the master school for painting at the Ortweinschule in Graz . His studio was on Plüddemanngasse. He died on December 16, 2005 after a brief, serious illness .

Lojen was a member of the KATV Norica Graz in the ÖKV .
