Gerhard Marschütz

Gerhard Marschütz (* 1956 in Vienna ) is an Austrian Roman Catholic theologian , sociologist and associate professor at the University of Vienna .

Marschütz studied Catholic theology in Vienna and Tübingen (Master's degree in 1981) and then worked in the school system of the Archdiocese of Vienna as well as pastoral assistant and secretary to Auxiliary Bishop Helmut Krätzl . In 1989 he moved to the University of Vienna as a university assistant , Catholic-Theological Faculty , Institute for Moral Theology and obtained his doctorate in 1991 with the dissertation The lost reverence for Dr. theol. For the Catholic Action Vienna he worked with his wife Maria in preparation for marriage .

After his habilitation in 1999 on family human ecology. He became associate professor at the University of Vienna for theological and ethical perspectives .

His main areas of work are marriage and family studies, gender studies , ethical problems at the beginning of human life and animal ethics .
