Gerhard Oberhammer

Gerhard Oberhammer (born June 18, 1929 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian emeritus full professor for Indology at the University of Vienna . He headed the institute of this university from 1983 until his retirement in 1997, is the author of numerous publications and a real member of the philosophical-historical class of the Austrian Academy of Sciences . In 1989 he was accepted as a full member of the Academia Europaea .
