Gerhard Peter Havers

Gerhard Peter Havers (born November 1, 1905 in Duisburg ; † June 14, 1976 ) was a German lawyer.

Life

Havers studied law in Freiburg and Münster. From 1931 he worked as a lawyer and in 1934 became a court assessor . After working in the financial administration from 1935 to 1938, he was appointed as a judge at the regional court in 1939. After the end of the Second World War and military service, he was again a judge at the regional court and was appointed regional court director in Duisburg in 1952.

Since 1948 he also worked for the Rhine Shipping Court. From January 1, 1965 to November 2, 1970 Havers was chairman of the Rhine Shipping Court in Duisburg-Ruhrort, a court of ordinary jurisdiction in Germany , France , the Netherlands and Switzerland .

Havers was a member of the Rupert Mayer Student Union and a member of the Cartel Association of Catholic German Student Associations . He was president of the local Kolping family and president of the Duisburg-Hamborn sports club, and from 1934 to 1944 and from 1947 to 1976 chairman of Sportfreunde Hamborn 07 (until 1954 SV Hamborn).

In 1962 he was appointed Knight of the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Grand Master Eugène Cardinal Tisserant and invested in Cologne on December 15, 1962 by Lorenz Jaeger , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy .
