Gerhard Seel

Gerhard Seel (born October 21, 1940 in Montabaur ) is a German philosopher and professor emeritus at the University of Bern.

Life

After graduating as Dr. phil. with Hans Wagner in Bonn on December 18, 1968 and habilitation at the University of Bonn , he was a professor at the Université de Neuchâtel . From 1988 he taught at the University of Bern and as a visiting professor at the universities of Oxford, Berlin, Paris, Padua, Venice, Salamanca, Salzburg, Bremen, Warsaw; he was a member of the Institute of Advanced Studies at Princeton. After a dissertation on Sartre, Gerhard Seel published numerous papers on logical problems in Aristotle and other authors of antiquity. He is currently working on a book on the semantics of practical sentences.
