Gerhard Tusek

Gerhard Tusek (born June 8, 1949 in Wiener Neustadt ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and high school teacher. Between 1991 and 1997 and between 2001 and 2003 he was a member of the Austrian Federal Council and from 1997 to 2001 a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag .

education and profession

Tusek attended the elementary school in Berndorf between 1955 and 1959 and then moved to the Bundesrealgymnasium in Berndorf in 1959 . He completed his school education in 1967 with the Matura and did his military service between 1967 and 1968, disarming as a militia officer with the rank of lieutenant colonel. From 1968 he studied biology and environmental studies as well as chemistry at the University of Vienna and graduated in 1973 with the academic degree Mag. Rer. nat. In 1973 he began his professional career as an AHS teacher at the Bundesrealgymnasium in Rohrbach in Upper Austria , where he was awarded the professional title of professor in 1978 . In 2000 he was appointed senior teacher. Retired July 1, 2012.

politics

Tusek was active in local politics between 1979 and 1997 as a member of the municipal council of the municipality of Rohrbach in Upper Austria. In addition, he was a member of the Federal Council from April 12, 1991 to October 29, 1991, of which he was a member again between October 30, 1991 and October 30, 1997. Tusek then moved as a member of the state parliament in the Upper Austrian state parliament , to which he was a member from October 31, 1997 to November 7, 2001. From July 1, 1997 to November 2, 1997 he was also a steward for the Federal Council and from 1988 to 1998 he was the district party chairman of the Rohrbach ÖVP in Upper Austria. In addition, he worked as district chairman of the Austrian Workers' Association (ÖAAB) Rohrbach in Upper Austria and was a member of the Austrian delegation to the Interparliamentary Union in 1995. He was also a member of the Austrian delegation to the Central European Initiative from 1995 to 1997, an observer at the Parliamentary Assembly of the WEU from 1994 to 1996 and a member of the EU Convention between 2002 and 2003.
