Gerhard Zickenrott

Gerhard Zickenrott (born February 20, 1939 in Hohengandern ) is a former German trade unionist and party functionary ( SED ). He was chairman of the Erfurt district board of the Free German Trade Union Federation (FDGB).

Life

Gerhard Zickenrott was born the son of a master baker . He attended elementary and high school and after completing his apprenticeship worked as a commercial clerk and planner at the Heiligenstadt consumer cooperative . This was followed by distance learning at the technical college for domestic trade in Dresden and at the commercial college in Leipzig , which he graduated in 1970 with a degree in economics.

In 1962 he became a member of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED). From 1963 to 1976 he was head of department at the council of the Nordhausen district and chairman of the district committee of the workers and farmers inspection . From 1976 to 1981 Zickenrott was secretary of the SED company party organization in VEB Hochbau Nordhausen. He then studied for a year at the Academy for Social Sciences at the Central Committee of the CPSU . From 1985 to 1988 he was secretary of the SED district leadership in Nordhausen and in 1988/89 - as the successor to Gerhard Nennstiel - chairman of the FDGB district board Erfurt, member of the SED district leadership Erfurt and the secretariat of the SED district leadership Erfurt. He was replaced by Hans-Dieter Jülich as chairman of the FDGB district board .
