Gerhard Nennstiel

Gerhard Nennstiel (born June 27, 1946 in Krauthausen ) is a former German FDGB and SED functionary. He was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR and chairman of IG Metall .

Life

Nennstiel, son of a worker, attended elementary and high school with a high school diploma. He learned in the automobile factory in Eisenach the profession of chipper . He became a member of the FDJ and in 1964 of the Free German Trade Union Federation. From 1965 to 1967 he did military service in the NVA . From 1965 to 1971 he completed correspondence or direct studies at the TH Merseburg with a degree in engineering and economics. Nennstiel became a member of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany in 1966. From 1967 to 1970 he was an instructor in the SED district leadership in Eisenach and until 1972 in the SED district leadership in Erfurt . After attending the Erfurt district party school in 1972/73, he was a political employee of the SED district leadership until 1977. He completed his studies at the party college of the CPSU in Moscow from 1977 to 1980 as a graduate social scientist. Then he worked again as a political employee of the SED district leadership in Erfurt.

From May 1981 he was deputy chairman (successor to Werner Beier) and from March 13, 1982 to September 5, 1988, as successor to Karl Kuron, chairman of the FDGB district executive committee in Erfurt (successor: Gerhard Zickenrott ). At the same time he was from 1981 a member of the Erfurt District Assembly and from 1982 to 1988 a member of the secretariat of the SED district leadership in Erfurt. In April 1982 he was elected a member of the FDGB federal board at the 10th FDGB Congress.

In June 1986, as a member of the FDGB parliamentary group, he became a member of the People's Chamber and a member of the committee for industry, construction and transport. At the 11th FDGB Congress in April 1987 he was elected to the Presidium of the FDGB Federal Executive. On October 3, 1988, he was elected chairman of the central executive committee of IG Metall in the presence of Harry Tisch .

After the extent and extent of his own home construction in Berlin-Biesdorf became known through an article in the Berliner Zeitung , he announced his resignation as chairman of IG Metall on November 1, 1989 and joined the 10th meeting of the FDGB- Federal Executive also as a member of the Presidium and as a member of the Federal Executive. On December 1, 1989, the 13th meeting of the People's Chamber lifted Nennstiel's immunity because of the investigations initiated against him. The 14th meeting of the People's Chamber decided on January 11, 1990 that he was recalled as a member of parliament. In April 1990 the preliminary investigation against him was closed.

After the reunification, Nennstiel worked as a consultant in a Berlin import and export company and founded his own company in 1993, WWB Business Export / Import GmbH.
