Gerhard von Dernath (Chancellor)

Gerhard Graf von Dernath (* September 1, 1700 ; † September 3, 1759 ) was a ducal God-Torpian secret council.

Live and act

Gerhard von Dernath was a son of Gerhard von Dernath and his first wife Christine Dorothea von Rantzau. As a member of the von der Dernath family , he continued his father's business.

Von Dernath officiated as lord of Kniphagen and Warendorf . As the ducal of Gottorpi's secret council, he also acted as chamber president and chancellor.

Gerhard von Dernath was married to Sophie Charlotte Countess von Bassewitz (1709–1780). The couple had a son named Friedrich Otto von Dernath , who became a privy councilor, chamberlain and district administrator and owned land in Denmark.
