The Court Square ( Italian: Piazza del Tribunale ) is a square in the South Tyrolean capital of Bolzano . It was built at the time of fascism in the district of Gries-Quirein and was originally called Piazza Arnaldo Mussolini , named after Arnaldo Mussolini (1885–1931), brother of the dictator Benito Mussolini .

To the north of the square is the Palace of Justice , which houses the Bolzano Regional Court . Opposite to the south is the Casa Littoria, built in 1939/42, with its oversized relief by the sculptor Hans Piffrader that glorifies fascism ; this is the former building of the National Fascist Party . The two buildings and the square together form a monumental ensemble that is clearly shaped by the rationalist architectural style of the fascist era.

The Naiad Fountain is located on the paved square . It was made by the Trentino sculptor Eraldo Fozzer (1908–1995) and was placed on the court in 1958. In 2003 the Najadenbrunnen was renovated together with the construction of a new underground car park under the square and the redesign of the square.

The overall conception of the square also indirectly includes the Christ the King's Church, which is somewhat separated to the east of the Italienallee , which was also built from 1938 and, together with the Casa Littoria and the courthouse, represented an ideologically charged entrance to the “Greater Bozen” planned by fascism.
