Bettina Schlorhaufer (* 1963 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian art historian .

Life

Schlorhaufer is the daughter of the doctor and poet Walter Schlorhaufer and Ilse born. Ligges. She studied art history and history at the Leopold-Franzens University Innsbruck and received her doctorate in 1988 with a dissertation on the history of a regional museum of the Danube Monarchy in Vormärz: The Association of the Tyrolean National Museum Ferdinandeum 1823–1848 . 1989–1990 followed a postdoctoral degree at the Institut Supérieur de Management Culturel ISMC in Paris. She received a diploma in 1990 with a concept for a museum in Nina Ricci’s perfume factory in Ury and then took part in setting up an archive for the Nina Ricci group.

This was followed by a position as a scientist in the field of art and culture management and as a curator . From 2005 to 2007 she was the chief curator of the gallery in the Museum Rabalderhaus, Schwaz . At the same time she worked in the field of contemporary music (including the idea and project management: Philip Glass “Tirol Concerto for Piano and Orchestra” and Erkki-Sven Tüür's “Oxymoron / Music for Tirol”, both pieces premiered at the Klangspuren Festival).

Since 2009 she has been an assistant at the Institute for Architectural Theory and Building History, Department of Architectural Theory with Bart Lootsma at the University of Innsbruck . In 2011 she completed her habilitation in the subject of “Modern History of Architecture”. She held teaching positions at the University of Liechtenstein and at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences .

Research projects

From 2012 to 2015 Schlorhaufer was the head of the Musch & Lun research project . Architects, entrepreneurs and politicians from the early days in South Tyrol . Here she was responsible for the inventory of the archive and the processing and interpretation of the Musch & Lun archive (Autonomous Province of Bolzano-South Tyrol, Office for Education Funding, University and Research).

From 2016 to 2019 she was head of the research project Mountain Hotels in South Tyrol (approx. 1880 to 1920) with special attention to the buildings and projects of Otto Schmid and Musch & Lun ( Touriseum Meran, operation of South Tyrolean State Museums).
