Gerit Kopietz

Gerit Kopietz (born January 22, 1963 in Möckmühl ) is a German author of books for children and young people .

Life

She grew up in Löwenstein and Willsbach , attended Justinus-Kerner-Gymnasium in Weinsberg and then trained as a teacher .

Since 1993 she has been writing books for children and young people with her husband Jörg Sommer . By 2006 more than 160 titles had been published, which were translated into 29 languages . The total circulation of their titles is around three million.

The couple also write radio plays , plays and scripts for television . Furthermore, they have jointly developed two series of educational games and numerous board games , and they write lyrics for producers of children's songs .

Gerit Kopietz lives with her husband and four children in Bad Friedrichshall .
