German Jordan

Germán Jordán (* 1890 in Cochabamba ; † December 15, 1932 in the Presidente Hayes Department ) was a Bolivian lieutenant colonel in the Chaco War between Bolivia and Paraguay . The Bolivian province of Germán Jordán today bears his name in honor of his services.

Life

Germán Jordán began studying at the Colegio “Sucre” of Cochabamba in 1915 to study at the National University “Bolivar” in Oruro , which he completed until he was drafted into the military in 1920.

He then served in various military corps of the regiments "Pérez" and "Loa". From 1924 he worked there as a military instructor.

When the Chaco War broke out in July 1932, he fought in an exemplary manner as a major with the Bolivian "Campero" regiment against the troops from Paraguay, until he was hit by a stray bullet in December of the same year at the battle at kilometer 7 in Today Paraguayan Chaco was killed.
