Germán Jordán is one of sixteen provinces in the central part of the Department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia . The name of the province honors the services of Lieutenant Colonel Germán Jordán , who was killed in the Chaco War against Paraguay in 1932 .

location

The province is located on the northwestern edge of the Bolivian Cordillera Oriental in close proximity to the city of Cochabamba . It borders in the southwest with the province of Esteban Arce , in the east with the province of Punata , and in the north with the province of Chapare .

The province extends between approximately 17 ° 29 'and 17 ° 43' south latitude and 66 ° 18 'and 66 ° 32' west longitude, its extent from west to east and from north to south is about 20 kilometers.
