The municipality of Tolata is a district in the department of Cochabamba in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality of Tolata is one of three municipalities in the province of Germán Jordán . It is bordered to the west and southwest by the province of Esteban Arce , to the southeast by the municipality of Cliza , to the east by the province of Punata , and to the north by the province of Chapare .
The central place of the municipality is Tolata with 3,368 inhabitants in the south-eastern part of the municipality. ( 2012 census )
geography
The Municipio Tolata is located in the transition area between the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Central and the Bolivian lowlands. The mean average temperature of the region is around 18 ° C (see climate diagram Cochabamba) and fluctuates only slightly between 14 ° C in June / July and 20 ° C in October / November.
The annual precipitation is only around 450 mm, with a pronounced dry season from May to September with monthly precipitation below 10 mm, and a humidity period from December to February with 90 to 120 mm monthly precipitation.
