Germaine Hesus "Kemy" Agustien (born August 20, 1986 in Willemstad , Curaçao , Netherlands Antilles ) is a Dutch football player . From summer 2013 to 2015, the defensive specialist was under contract with the Football League Championship participant Brighton & Hove Albion .

Career

society

Agustien began his professional career with Willem II Tilburg in the Netherlands. From 2004 he was part of the professional squad there. In the summer of 2006 he signed a contract with the top Dutch club AZ Alkmaar, which loaned him to Roda Kerkrade for the 2006/07 season. In Kerkrade he was a regular player and was able to score two goals in 31 games. For the following season he went back to Alkmaar, where he mostly played the role of supplementary player.

At the beginning of the 2008/09 season, Agustien moved on loan to the English second division for Birmingham City . A purchase option at the end of the season provides that Birmingham City can then sign him permanently for a fixed transfer fee of two million euros. However, the club did not pull this option and Agustien went back to Alkmaar. The reason was an injury that the player suffered in the second half of the season. Until then he came to the English on regular assignments. But the stay at the AZA was only brief. Already on August 14, 2009 it was announced that league competitor RKC Waalwijk would like to borrow the defensive all-rounder. This then signed a one-year loan contract. Before he left, Agustien was able to celebrate winning the Johan Cruyff Schaal , the Dutch Supercup, with the Alkmaar . At the final on July 25, 2009, however, he was not used. In Waalwijk, Agustien developed well after initial short assignments and came to regular games. In a total of 19 league games, he was substituted four times and nine times. In the summer of 2010, the defensive player finally broke away from Alkmaar and signed a contract with the Welsh club Swansea City, which played in the English Football League Championship . After a loan from Crystal Palace in London in 2011, Agustien moved to Brighton & Hove Albion in 2013, where he played for two years.

National team

Agustien was a U-21 international for the Netherlands . He took part in the 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup and played two games for the Elftal. In 2009 he was appointed to the U21 squad for the Toulon tournament.
