Moussa Germain Sanou (born May 26, 1992 in Bobo-Dioulasso ) is a football player from the West African state of Burkina Faso . The goalkeeper has been under contract with AS Saint-Étienne in France since 2010 .

Career

During his childhood, Sanou played on the streets with other children in his residential area and was already a goalkeeper at the time, when he first joined a local club at the age of eleven. At the age of 15 he came to the Center Saint-Étienne Bobo and stayed there for the next three years. During his time there, he took part as a goalkeeper with the U-17 national team of Burkina Faso at the U-17 World Cup in Nigeria in 2009 and reached the round of 16 (1: 4 against Spain) with the team. At the beginning of 2010 he was also part of Burkina Faso's squad at the African Cup of Nations, but did not replace Daouda Diakité .

In mid-2010, he moved to France in the youth department of AS Saint-Étienne . With the youth team, he reached the final of the Coupe Gambardella in 2011 , in which the AS Monaco offspring were defeated on penalties. Sporadically, he was also used for the B-team in the Championnat de France Amateur in the 2010/11 season . After playing his first international match for Burkina Faso in 2010 , he played regularly in 2011 and was also nominated for the 2012 African Cup by national coach Paulo Duarte .
