Germaine Abessolo Bivina (born May 9, 1990 in Zoétélé ) is a Cameroonian sprinter .

Athletic career

Germaine Abessolo Bivina gained her first international experience at the 2014 African Championships in Marrakech , where she was eliminated with 25.35 s in the run over 200 meters and finished fifth with the Cameroonian 4 x 100 meter relay in 46.33 s . The following year, she was eliminated from the first round of the Summer Universiade in Gwangju over 100 and 200 meters. Then she reached the semi-finals in both competitions at the Africa Games in Brazzaville and was sixth with the relay in 45.27 s. In addition, she was disqualified with the 4 x 400 meter relay. She also reached the semi-finals over 100 and 200 meters at the 2016 African Championships in Durban and finished sixth in the 4 x 100 meter relay in 46.23 seconds. In 2017 she won the bronze medal behind the teams from Bahrain and Nigeria in 46.78 seconds at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku . In addition, she was seventh in the 200-meter run with 24.44 s . This was followed by winning the silver medal with the relay in 45.23 at the Francophonie Games in Abidjan and sixth place over 200 meters. She then took part again in the Student World Games in Taipei and reached the quarter-finals in the 100-meter run and the semi-finals over 200 meters, in which she was eliminated with 24.46 s. In 2018 she took part for the first time in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , where she was eliminated in the semifinals with 24.05 s. In addition, she reached sixth place in the Cameroonian 4 x 100 meter relay in 45.24 s. In August she won the silver medal behind the Ivorian Marie-Josée Ta Lou at the African Championships in Asaba in 23.36 seconds . In the 100-meter competition, she was eliminated in the semifinals with 12.10 seconds.
