The German Blues Challenge is an annual competition for young blues musicians in Germany.

The selection and award of the German Blues Challenge is organized by the Baltic Blues eV association in Eutin . The selection of candidates is based on a survey among trade journalists, organizers and producers. The eight most frequently named candidates will be put online for public voting. The five winners of the vote will be invited to compete with each other in Eutin, where they will give a 30-minute concert. The winner will be determined by an expert jury according to the rules of the European Blues Union .

The winners (soloist, duo or band) can take part in the European Blues Challenge in the following year. Participation in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis (Tennessee) in the following year is also possible.

The winners will be determined at an event organized by Baltic Blues eV in Eutin. The German Blues Awards will also be presented on the same occasion .
