Germanen Blut was a pagan metal band founded in 2000 .
history
The band was founded in 2000 by Nordsturm (vocals, guitar) and Wintersturm (drums). With Grimm and Arnemann, the demo was taken up into battle . After the latter two musicians left the band, Ignorass ( vocals , bass ) joined them.
Germanen Blut released three albums and a demo CD. The debut album Der Zorn des Sturms was released in 2006 on the record company Nebelfee Klangwerke by the absurd singer Ronald Möbus . In 2008, the album Wandering in the loneliness of abysmal thoughts followed , which was released by the Drolingvarst label. Then Ignorass left the band, and Nordsturm and Wintersturm continued as a duo. The third album The Woods Midgards was released in 2009 by Christhunt Productions .
In July 2010, a one-year break was announced because Nordsturm had to move to Norway for study reasons. The band broke up in 2013 because they saw themselves increasingly "in the right wing of Black Metal".
Nordsturm and Wintersturm played in parallel in the pagan metal band Hunaz . Nordsturm was a member of the pagan metal band Wolf in Sheep's Clothing, which released an album through Christhunt Productions in 2010.

The debut album Der Zorn des Sturms appeared on Nebelfee Klangwerke, which mainly released records by openly right-wing extremist bands such as Absurd, Barad Dûr, Pantheon and Totenburg . The forests of Midgards appeared on Christhunt Productions , where recordings by right-wing extremist bands were also released. However, the band writes on their Myspace page that it is “more than superfluous to harbor any suspicions or thoughts to throw us into a political direction known to this civilization, just because one thinks one can infer the meaning from a name, which is hidden behind it, without even having a clue of what moves us in our actions. Our music springs from the pen of our thoughts and not from restricted, totalitarian and unfree worldviews. ”Ultimately, the association with the record label and its political attitude was also a reason for the group's dissolution.
style
The band played Pagan Metal with Black Metal influences, which relies less on genre-typical lyrics about battles, but rather deals with spiritual topics and melancholy . In addition to metal, acoustic passages are also incorporated. The music is mainly played at a low to medium tempo. The singing alternates between a high-pitched guttural screeching in the style of Varg Vikernes and polyphonic clear singing .
