Germania Kirchberg (officially: Football Club Germania 09 Kirchberg eV ) is a sports club from the Jülich district of Kirchberg in the Düren district . The first soccer team played for a year in the highest amateur league in the Middle Rhine region.

history

The association was founded in 1909. In 1951, the team rose to the district class. Three years later he was promoted to the state league , the highest amateur league on the Middle Rhine at the time. After only one season, the direct relegation followed. The Kirchbergers were beaten with 51: 141 goals and 7:49 points, last of the 1954/55 season. The only win of the season was 8: 1 against Rot-Weiß Berrendorf , but Germania suffered three double-digit defeats with 0:10 at VfR Übach-Palenberg , 4:11 at Eschweiler SG and even 0:14 at SuS Herzogenrath .

The direct resurgence was missed after a 1: 3 play-off defeat in the relegation against VfB 05 Cologne . After the runner-up in 1959, 1960 and 1962 behind the VfJ Ratheim , the TuS Jahn Hilfarth and the SC Ederen , they were promoted to the national league again in 1963. Then the club did not get beyond local leagues. In 2006 the first team was relegated to the district league B and in 2017 to the district league C.
