Gernot Alber

Gernot Alber (born October 31, 1957 ) is an Austrian physicist. Since 2002 he has been professor for theoretical physics at the Technical University of Darmstadt .

Life

Gernot Alber studied physics in 1981 with a Mag. Rer. nat. graduated from the University of Innsbruck . There he received his doctorate in 1985 and completed his habilitation in 1991. In 1991 he was studying abroad at the University of California, Santa Barbara , USA . He became a private lecturer at the University of Freiburg (1994) and the University of Ulm (1988–1997). Since 2002 he has been professor for theoretical physics at the TU Darmstadt.

Scientific work

In more than 100 articles he deals with the field of quantum optics and quantum information theory.
