Gero Dolezalek

Gero Rudolf Dolezalek (born January 18, 1943 in Posen ) is a German lawyer and professor at the University of Aberdeen .

Life

Dolezalek studied history and law in Kiel , Florence , Modena and Frankfurt am Main . In 1967, he was with a thesis Imbreviaturbuch the Archbishop's court notary Hubaldus from Pisa to Dr. iur. PhD .

From 1971 Dolezalek was a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for European Legal History in Frankfurt am Main. In addition to his work at the Max Planck Institute, he was professor at the University of Nijmegen from 1985 . In 1989 he left the Institute to attend the University of Cape Town the "P William Schreiner Chair of Roman and Comparative Law" to take (Chair).

After a substitute at the University of Munich , Dolezalek moved to the University of Leipzig in the winter semester of 1996 , where he initially held a C3, and from 1998 a C4 professorship for civil law, Roman law with a focus on common law and ecclesiastical legal history. Before reaching the legal age limit, he accepted a call to the University of Aberdeen in 2006 , where he was Professor of Civil Law until September 2009 .
